UPS will be Hiring More than 100,000 Seasonal Workers This Year

This week, UPS announced its plans to hire more than 100,000 workers for the upcoming holiday season.

“The company is seeking to fill full- and part-time seasonal positions around the nation and is primarily in need of seasonal delivery drivers, drivers with a commercial driver’s license and package handlers to help with the influx of packages that are shipped during the season,” Fox Business reported.

The holiday season is the busiest time of year for delivery services and UPS said the company would be offering employees “competitive wages and multiple shifts.”

According to Fox Business, the company is facing financial repercussions from continuous labor negotiations that were resolved in July and finalized last month. The company’s revenue reportedly fell during the second quarter as package volume dropped.

Additionally, the full-year consolidated revenue expectations were lowered to “reflect the volume impact from labor negotiations and the costs associated with the tentative agreement reached,” UPS stated in an earnings report that was released last month.
