Uber Creates New Features to Help Travelers Find Their Ride at the Airport

Traveling can be stressful. Between navigating crowded airports, locating baggage and securing a ride, things can get complicated quickly. Uber will now help alleviate some of that dreaded stress.

Uber announced some new app features on Tuesday that will make locating rides at the airport easier.

According to CNN, Uber will be “adding step-by-step instructions in the app to guide people through the airport and get them smoothly from the gate to their Uber pick-up location. The new instructions, which are available at over 30 airports around the world to start, feature photos that display what you will be seeing in the airport as you navigate to your ride.”

The update also “aims to reduce traffic congestion and idle time for drivers at the curb,” CNN reported.

In the future, Uber plans to release an additional feature that will give users an estimated walking time so they can effectively plan how long it will take them to navigate the airport and when to call their ride. The company will also expand its Uber Reserve offerings which allow travelers to book rides in advance.
