Taylor Swift Fans Sue Ticketmaster for “Unlawful Conduct”

Taylor Swift Fans Sue Ticketmaster for “Unlawful Conduct”

Taylor Swift fans are still upset over the fiasco that occurred during the pre-sale of Swift’s “The Era’s Tour” through Ticketmaster. Now, over a dozen fans are filing a lawsuit against the ticketing website and its parent company.

Thousands of fans were left without tickets due to the Ticketmaster site freezing and crashing. The website was unprepared for the enormous traffic it received during the pre-sale, even though it took measures to weed out bots and estimate how many fans would be purchasing tickets by requiring registration through Verified Fan.

According to CNN, the lawsuit claims “Ticketmaster and its parent company were anti-competitive, imposing higher prices on fans in the presale, sale and resale market. It claims Ticketmaster forced concertgoers to exclusively use its site and controlled all registration and access to Swift’s “The Eras Tour.”

The lawsuit also alleges that Ticketmaster provided presale codes to more fans than there were seats available stating, “Ticketmaster intentionally provided codes when it could not satisfy demands.”

This was frustrating to fans who waited up to eight hours to purchase tickets.

Ticketmaster previously issued an apology addressing the situation, but clearly, that was not enough for fans.
