Target Recalls Almost 5 Million Candles

Target Recalls Almost 5 Million Candles

Target has issued a recall for almost 5 million candles after reports of burns and lacerations.

Target’s home goods brand, Threshold, is beloved by many, especially for its candles. However, 4.9 million of them have been impacted by the recall. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) stated in a notice, the jars “can crack or break during use, posing laceration and burn hazards.”

Also according to the notice, “Target received 137 reports of the candle jar breaking or cracking during use. Six injuries were reported, including lacerations and severe burns.

The candles were sold exclusively at Target stores and online from August 2019 through March 2023.

The CPSC’s notice as well as Target’s website states that “consumers should immediately stop using the recalled candles.”

Consumers in possession of a recalled candle are eligible for a full refund. Consumers can return them to any Target store location or contact the company to receive a prepaid return label to return the candles by mail.
