Subway Locations Will Now be Freshly Slicing Their Deli Meat

Subway Locations Will Now be Freshly Slicing Their Deli Meat

This week, Subway started freshly slicing its meat in its own deli, the biggest change the chain has made in two years.

The sandwich industry’s competition has ramped up during the last couple years, according to CNN, and Subway is struggling to keep up. Now, about 80% of store locations will be displaying the pricey meat slicer near the deli counter so customers can watch their meat being freshly cut. This is a big change for the company considering its meat was previously sliced at a factory and sent to store locations.

Also, as part of the company’s efforts to increase sales, customization has been added to the menu. This feature has reportedly helped lift sales at almost 8% of American stores last year, per CNN.

Subway has also increased advertisements for its app, urging customers to place their order digitally. Customers can also sign up for Subway MyWay, the company’s rewards program that offers rewards and deals to all members.
