Planet Fitness is Supporting Teens’ Physical and Mental Health this Summer

Planet Fitness is Supporting Teens’ Physical and Mental Health this Summer

Planet Fitness has launched the third year of its High School Summer Pass program, a program for teens ages 14 to 19 that allows them to focus on their physical and mental health, completely free of charge.

Planet Fitness, which has 2,400 gym locations across the United States and Canada, deemed the program as a “fun, safe and judgment-free zone.” The fitness center is also offering teens exercise plans specific to their age group and workouts led by certified trainers, according to CNN.

One of Planet Fitness’ key motivators for starting the program is the fact that teens struggle with their overall wellness. Data, including a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, reveals that around 22% of children ages 12 to 19 years old are obese.

The High School Summer Pass program is also launching during a month that is dedicated to mental health awareness. Data from the CDC also shows that many highschool aged children suffer from poor mental health, 29% to be exact.

Teens can register on Planet Fitness’ website now.
