Major League Pickleball (MLP) has reached an agreement with the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour after weeks of uncertainty.
“As professional pickleball continues to rapidly grow, we could not be more excited to provide both players and fans with the clarity and consistency of a unified professional pickleball organization,” the founder of Major League Pickleball, Steve Kuhn, stated.
According to CNBC, the merger agreement was announced back in November, but the MLP and the PPA reportedly had a “major falling out” after the merger terms they agreed upon had not been finalized.
The union of the two competing leagues could be extremely beneficial, according to Kuhn. “This merger will expand and improve opportunities for current and future players, creating a united experience and a better future playing professional pickleball.”
Pickleball, considered the fastest growing sport in America, has seen a massive increase in players at both the amateur and professional level.
