Has Kellogs Taken “On the Go” a Little Too Far?

Has Kellogs Taken “On the Go” a Little Too Far?

Milk? Who needs it? Now you can just add water.

Kellogs (NYSE-K) debuted their newest product, Insta-bowls. They claim you can have “the same great taste anywhere, anytime – no milk required!”

This new cereal comes pre-portioned in a single-serve portable bowl and is “perfect for on the go.”

Marketing Director Chris Stolsky gave insight into the reasoning behind this new launch. “We created Kellogg’s Instabowls as an easy solution for the ‘anytime cereal break’ so you can now bring your favorite Kellogg’s cereals with you wherever life takes you and not have to worry about milk, dishes, or clean-up” (prnewswire.com).

Stolsky said traditional sit-down meals are hard to come by these days. And between busy schedules and a large need for portable food, Instabowls are the solution for it all.

Or is it…

One user expressed their displeasure with the latest cereal product by leaving an amusing comment on Yahoo Finance’s report. It read, “Next, Kellogg’s is working on a cereal that doesn’t need cereal, at a higher price of course.”

So, is this milk-less cereal going to be a hit or a miss? Only time will tell.
