Children’s Beds are Being Recalled Due to Strangulation Risks

Children’s Beds are Being Recalled Due to Strangulation Risks

Horrifying revelations have been revealed about products from Ohio-based Bell Station Interiors.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), at least two children have been entrapped in the bed rails creating a major entrapment hazard for the products. One child was not harmed and the other sustained minor injuries.

The recall includes around 7,450 Zipadee Kids convertible house beds frames and Montessori floor beds. The Affected products were sold between February 2018 and September 2021.

According to a news release from the CPSC, the spacing of the beds’ rails is what poses the risk of entrapment. “The bed’s design allows a child’s torso to slip through the rail opening but will not allow their head to pass, posing entrapment and strangulation hazards that could result in death.”

The CPSC is urging owners of beds affected by the recall to dispose of them immediately. Reselling or donating the beds is considered a federal violation.
