Bud Light Sales are Still Sinking

Bud Light is still facing the fallout of its controversial partnership with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.

This week, Anheuser-Busch InBev reported a 13.5% decline in U.S. revenue, according to Fox Business. Additionally, “The global brewing conglomerate also reported a 17.1% decline in North American sales volume during the third quarter. Its North American sales fell 14.5% in the prior quarter, when the Bud Light brand lost its long-standing title as the best-selling beer in the U.S. after being eclipsed by Modelo Especial, which is owned by Constellation Brands.”

The ordeal began when Bud Light entered a partnership with Mulvaney in which the company created and sent custom beer cans to celebrate her “365 days of girlhood.” That marketing decision in combination with comments from Bud Light’s marketing vice president prompted customers to boycott the beer.

Bud Light consumers reportedly want “beer without a debate” and the company is taking notes. Bud Light has introduced new partnerships with NFL players and the UFC featuring taglines like “easy to drink” and “easy to enjoy,” CNN reported.
