Apple Forgoes Boosted Production Plans for the iPhone 14

Apple Forgoes Boosted Production Plans for the iPhone 14

Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Apple had cut production targets for the iPhone 14 by up to six million units.

The anticipated surge in demand for the iPhone 14 did not appear to meet expectations, leading Apple to back off on plans to boost production targets.

According to Bloomberg and CNET, “Apple told suppliers to dial back planned increases in manufacturing on the entire product line for the latter half of this year. Instead, Apple aims to make 90 million units during this time period, in line with its original forecast but lopping off a planned production increase of roughly 6 million.”

Although President Biden declared the COVID-19 pandemic is over, consumers face new sets of problems these days. People are probably forgoing the latest iPhone upgrade due to soaring inflation and an increased risk of recession.

For citizens of the US, the price for the iPhone 14 will remain the same as the previous model. However, in the UK, Japan and Germany the price has jumped from a $33-$146 increase
