Amazon’s CEO is Enforcing the Return-to-Office Policy

Amazon’s CEO is Enforcing the Return-to-Office Policy

Amazon has faced an ongoing challenge of getting employees back in the office. However, company CEO, Andy Jassy, is not backing down.

Employees were first informed in February about the requirement to work in-person at an Amazon office at least three days a week. They were told the new policy would start at the beginning of May. Additionally, it was reported that some employees would have to relocate as part of the new policy.

During a meeting in August, according to Business Insider, Jassy said, “If you can’t disagree and commit, I also understand that, but it’s probably not going to work out for you at Amazon because we’re going back into the office at least three days a week. And it’s not right for all of our teammates to be in three days a week and for people to refuse to do so.”

The decision to come back to the office was made by Amazon executives after they analyzed how teams were collaborating, the company’s culture, performance of the business plus more factors, Fox Business reported.

Amazon is not the only company requiring employees to come back to the office. Companies in the food and financial sectors have also reportedly made the same decision.
