Amazon Introduces a Short-Form Video and Photo Feed, Compared to TikTok

Amazon has introduced a new feature in its app, a short-form video and photo feed called Inspire. Although some people are comparing it to TikTok, the director of Amazon shopping, Oliver Messenger, claimed that “it wasn’t TikTok’s success that encouraged the company to build Inspire – it was customer feedback,” Yahoo Finance reported.

Messenger explained that video and photo feed was something customers were asking for “repeatedly.”

The purpose of Inspire was to help shoppers find exactly what they are looking for. The Inspire feed can be totally personalized and catered to one’s interests and shopping priorities.

When customers see something they like, they can tap buttons at the bottom of the window and will be guided to the link to the product on Amazon. Customers can then purchase the product or add it to their wish list.

“We invent every day to make shopping easy and fun,” Messenger said in a statement. “Inspire is our new shopping experience that connects Amazon customers with shoppable content created by other customers, the latest influencers, and a wide range of brands. In just a few taps, customers can discover new products or get inspiration on what to buy, all tailored to their interests, and then shop for those items on Amazon.”
