Twitter’s New Subscription Lets Users Tweet 10,000 Characters

Twitter’s New Subscription Lets Users Tweet 10,000 Characters

Tired of Twitter’s 280-character limit? You might want to check out the new subscription option.

The company recently started allowing its Blue subscribers to tweet up to 10,000 characters per tweet as well as supporting bold and italic format, CNBC reported.

Twitter’s Blue subscription was relaunched at the end of last year and costs 8$ a month for web users and $11 a month for iOS users. The Blue subscription grants users a blue checkmark upon review and approval, the ability to edit tweets, fewer ads, early access to new features and now, the ability to tweet 10,000 characters.

Additionally, Twitter is allowing users to subscribe to their favorite content creators in exchange for exclusive content in an effort to expand its monetization options.

Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, explained how this new feature would benefit creators. “You will receive whatever money we receive, so that’s 70% for subscriptions on iOS & Android (they charge 30%) and ~92% on web (could be better, depending on payment processor).” He added, “After first year, iOS & Android fees drop to 15% and we will add a small amount on top of that, depending on volume. We will also help promote your work. Our goal is to maximize creator prosperity.”
