A Twitter account dedicated to tracking where Elon Musk’s private jet touches down has been suspended.
The account, @ElonJet, amassed more than half a million followers and was created by 20-year-old college student, Jack Sweeney. Sweeney announced on his personal Twitter account on Wednesday that @ElonJet had been suspended.
A month ago, Musk acknowledged the account and pledged he would keep it running even though it posed a “personal safety risk.” Musk made this decision based on his “commitment to free speech,” BBC News reported.
Sweeney created the Twitter account over two years ago and used publicly available flight data to tweet whenever Musk’s private jet took off and landed.
The suspension comes a week after the @ElonJet account was shadow banned and placed under review. Sweeney claimed this temporary ban made his account harder to find in searches or suggestions.
