The “Crypto King’s” Reign Might be Over
23-year-old Aiden Pleterski, also known as the “Crypto King,” is in trouble.
CBC Toronto reported that Pleterski had $2 million worth of assets seized including a Lamborghini, two McLarens and two BMWs.
Pleterski is being sued by former investors in a bankruptcy proceeding and two civil lawsuits after claims that over $35 million given to Pleterski’s company by 140 investors vanished.
Of those 140 investors was a 65-year-old woman who admitted she invested $60,000 that she was saving for her grandchildren’s education.
Yahoo Finance reported, “Norman Groot, founder of Investigation Counsel PC, told CBC Toronto that the bankruptcy proceeding against Pleterski, who started investing in cryptocurrency as a teenager, was one of the only ways investors could try to get their money back.”
That $35 million could very well have been funding Pleterski’s lakefront mansion which he pays $45,000 monthly in rent, promotional articles about himself and more.
As of right now, Pleterski is not facing criminal charges.
Pleterski’s lawyer told CBC Toronto that the claims against him are “wildly exaggerated” and chalks up the missing money to Pleterski being “very unorganized.”
After all, he is the “Crypto King” not the “Organized King.”
