Starbucks Reveals New Line of Drinks Made with Olive Oil
Starbucks is introducing a new line of beverages made with extra virgin olive oil. The name of the line is “Starbucks Oleato,” which means “oiled” in Italian, and will be available at Starbucks locations in Italy starting this week.
According to Yahoo Finance, “The new line of coffee drinks is made with Starbucks’ arabica coffee and is infused with a spoonful of Partanna cold pressed, extra-virgin olive oil.” The drinks will hit stores in Southern California this spring and then will be offered at certain locations in Japan, the Middle East and the United Kingdom.
The Oleato line takes three fan-favorite drinks, like the oat milk latte, iced shaken espresso and cold brew, and oils them up. According to CNN, the exact drinks are, “An Oleato latte with oat milk and olive oil, an Oleato ice shaken espresso with oat milk, hazelnut flavor and olive oil, and the Oleato golden foam cold brew, made with a version of Starbucks’ sweet milk foam infused with two olive oil servings.”
Starbucks is known for dropping seasonal and limited edition flavors, but Oleato is one of the biggest launches the company has had in decades, according to chief marketing officer, Brady Brewer. He explained to CNN, “Rather than a flavor or a product, it’s really a platform.” He also noted that customers will be able to customize some drinks using olive oil.
