On Wednesday, Delta Airlines announced that Brady would become the company’s “strategic advisor.” This role reportedly includes working on internal employee training and appearing in external advertising campaigns.
This “innovative new partnership” will span over the course of several years. According to a press release from the airline, Brady’s first year will be spent working “closely with Delta’s employees for onboarding, cultural familiarity and immersion into the Delta organization. Brady will also appear on Bastian’s “Gaining Altitude”– a one-on-one discussion series featuring important conversations around overcoming adversity, performance, perseverance and more.”
However, according to CNN, this type of celebrity employment deals have “a long history – and a lousy track record.” Partnerships between companies and celebrities like Alicia Keys, will.i.am and Lady Gaga were reportedly not very successful and ended after a few years.
In addition to Brady’s new partnership with Delta, he also founded a health and wellness company called TB12 Sports and owns a media company as well as a clothing line. Brady is also a minority owner of several sports teams.
