Kit Kat Introduces Cereal Product
Kit Kit is introducing its new cereal to U.S. consumers this month, a product that became available in Europe back in March. The cereal resembles the wafer-covered chocolate bar and will cost $5.69 for a standard box size, according to CNN.
Kit Kat is joining the candy-flavored cereal club that already includes brands like Reese’s, Peeps, Jolly Ranchers, Sour Patch Kids, Hershey’s Kisses and more.
This is the first cereal Kit Kit has produced, but in 2021, the candy brand introduced a limited edition, cereal inspired, fruity cereal candy bar. “The light pink candy bar was covered in fruity cereal-flavored creme with rainbow-colored specks, similar to the way leftover milk would look in your cereal bowl,” according to Food & Wine.
General Mills, Kit Kat’s cereal producer, also has plans to launch other cereals this spring. These include Cinnamon Toast Crunch Tres LEches, Vanilla Spice Cheerios, miniature Lucky Charms and Cocoa Puffs plus more.
The launch of these new cereals comes as a time when food prices are rising and cereal demand is slowing, CNN reported. Data collected by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that the price for cereal products rose 13.6% over the last full year.
