Dunkin’ Donuts will be turning two of its most popular drinks into spiked beverages.
The restaurant chain is the latest brand to join the trend of turning its signature drinks into spiked beverages. The two malt-based drinks are expected to roll out in the coming weeks and will feature coffee and tea variations.
The hard coffees will come in variety packs featuring four flavors: Original Iced Coffee, Caramel Iced Coffee, Mocha Iced Coffee, and Vanilla Iced Coffee, USA Today reported. Additionally, the spiked teas will come in packs that feature: Slightly Sweet Iced Tea, Half & Half Iced Tea, Strawberry Dragonfruit Iced Tea Refresher and Mango Pineapple Iced Tea Refresher.
Dunkin’ Donuts is joining a space that is already very crowded with brands like Simply Lemonade and Mountain Dew that have already jumped on the ready-to-drink beverage trend. However, Dunkin’ plans on standing out.
“Like other well known non-alcoholic brands, Dunkin’ wants to capitalize on a built-in audience and established brand equity as it pushes its way into alcohol. This trend is just getting started,” Duane Stanford, editor of Beverage Digest, told CNN.
