Apple is making a significant price hike to its TV+ streaming platform.
The subscription will now cost $9.99 per month, up from the previous monthly cost of $6.99. The change will immediately affect new subscribing customers and existing customers will notice the change in 30 days upon their next renewal date, Apple stated.
Apple is increasing the price of other services as well including its gaming platform and Apple News. An Apple Arcade subscription now costs $6.99 per month, up from $4.99 and a subscription to Apple News now costs $12.99.
According to CNN, “ Apple said the change reflects its continued focus on adding more high quality content and features.”
Inflation reached its peak in June 2022 and since then it has been trending lower, but consumers are still seeing price hikes. Just last week Netflix raised the price of its one-stream basic plan to $11.99.
