This week, Apple is expected to unveil what some are calling its most ambitious hardware product in years, a mixed-reality headset.
According to CNN, the launch of the AR/VR headset could signal a “new era” for Apple and “potentially revolutionize how millions interact with computers and the world around them.”
Although the exact price for the device has not been disclosed yet, Apple is reportedly considering charging $3,000 per headset. That price tag differs drastically from the cost of Meta’s AR/VR headset which debuted last Thursday.
The Meta Quest 3 will be available this fall for $499 and will feature many upgrades from its predecessor, the Quest 2. According to Yahoo Finance, Meta’s announcement, just three days before Apple is expected to announce its AR/VR headset, is a “clear shot” at its biggest competitor.
In addition to the much anticipated AR/AR announcement, Apple is working on plans to expand its retail chain, reportedly focusing on pushing deeper into parts of Asia while overhauling existing locations in the U.S. and Europe. This includes relocating, remodeling and creating new store locations through 2027.
