Amazon is trying to keep up with conversational AI tools.
In an interview with CNN, Senior Vice President of devices and services, Dave Limp, said, “We’ve been using all forms of AI for a long time, but now that we see this emergence of generative AI, we can accelerate that vision even faster.”
Limp stated that there are “clear possibilities” on how generative AI could improve Alexa products. Generative AI is a type of artificial intelligence system that is capable of generating content, such as images and text, in response to user requests.
CNN reported that this type of technology could “help Alexa have more natural conversations with users, answer more complex questions, and be more creative by telling stories or making up song lyrics in seconds.”
Limp said the goal for Alexa is “to be the true source of knowledge for everything” and maybe using generative AI will make this happen.
