Amazon announced on Wednesday that the company will be expanding its Fire TV line including newer, cheaper options as well as offering its flagship Fire TV Omni QLED series in more sizes.
The new, cheaper Fire TV addition is called the 2-Series and starts at just $200. The set comes in 32-inch (720p) and 40-inch (1080p) options. According to Amazon’s website, the Fire TV 2-series allows consumers to get all their entertainment in one place. “Fire TV gives you quick access to live TV, video games, and music, and lets you stream over 1 million movies and TV episodes with subscriptions to Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, and more.”
Amazon also announced the Fire TV Omni QLED series will now be available in 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch options in addition to the already existing 65-inch and 75-inch models. The Fire TV QLED series now starts at $450.
Wednesday’s news is one of the biggest announcements to date for Fire TV, according to Yahoo Finance, as the product will now be sold in the U.K., Germany and Mexico.
The Fire TV 2-Series set is now available for purchase on Amazon’s website and the Fire TV Omni QLED Series is available for pre-order and will be released on May 11, 2023.
