This week, at Apple’s September keynote event, the iPhone 15 was unveiled along with some other major updates.
The new iPhone will come with several upgrades including a brighter screen, new camera system and a USB-C port. The iPhone 15 Pro is the lightest Pro model yet with a new A17 Pro chip and a titanium chassis.
The upgrade to the USB-C port has been highly anticipated by Apple users. “Now Apple customers can use the same USB-C chargers to power their iPhones, iPads and Mac computers — no more scrambling to find the right charger for each device. Apple said a dedicated USB-C controller will allow for transfer speeds of up to 20 times faster than with USB-2 technology for the iPhone 15 Pro,” CNN reported.
As a way for users to repurpose their old chargers, Apple will be selling a $29 USB-C Lightning adapter to let people connect their existing Lightning chargers and cables to a USB C-enabled iPhone or iPad.
Also, iPhone users will be able to recycle their old Lightning chargers in-store as part of its recycling program.
